Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of IT, the Programmer Analyst will be required to plan, design, develop and implement computer programs in support of Colony’s system needs.  Will be responsible for the testing of software to ensure they are problem free and debugging programs as needed.  Must be knowledgeable about the latest technology trends and able to work in team settings.    Will be responsible for maintaining our current systems and keeping our IT support staff updated on the latest tools and processes.  Will be actively involved in planning for the future growth and expansion of our computer network. 

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Will provide programming modifications as needed on the ERP system
  • Will identify, research and resolve problems
  • Plans projects by analyzing and confirming end user requirements
  • Accomplishes project requirements, communicating project status to end user
  • Identifies work process improvements and implements new technology
  • Optimizes solutions; evaluates alternative solutions; writes programs
  • Verifies results by completing tests and modifying program sequence and/or codes
  • Work on multiple projects with multiple fast changing requirements
  • Will respond to telephone calls and email requests for technical support
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping Colony information confidential

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related degree
  • Minimum 2 years as a Programmer, preferably in a distribution environment
  • Must have experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012 and Red Hat Linux
  • Must have programming experience in ProvideX, Business Basic (BBx) or similar language
  • Experience in a Help Desk role a plus
  • Experience with FACTS, Prelude a plus
  • Should have knowledge of IT security, including authentication and encryption
  • Data center operations, including backup and restore activities
  • Working knowledge of server administration for Windows server 2008, 2012
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Should be business process oriented
  • Knowledge of Cloud computing technology
  • Must demonstrate passion for learning new tools and technology
  • Must have strong analytical skills to support effective business decisions for continued growth and prosperity
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work with multiple priorities, sometimes under limited time constraints
  • Demonstrate the ability to stay current on IT threats and vulnerabilities
  • Required to work well with customers and co-workers in a team environment
  • Must be able to respond to calls and issues with little hands-on direction
  • Must be able to communicate effectively; must be able to read, speak and write clearly in the English language
  • Must be available for overnight travel
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

  • ProvideX or Business Basic

 

Essential functions:

  • Physical dexterity for use of computer and demo equipment
  • Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents
  • Analytical ability including basic math skills
  • Ability to listen to and interpret customer’s needs, both internal and external
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Communication skills including speaking, reading and writing

Additional Comments:

 

Must be able to travel long distances to meetings, seminars, training sessions and customer calls.  May also require occasional overnight trips.  Excellent attendance, punctuality and a customer service mindset are mandatory.
