Job Summary

Reporting to the Facility/Safety Manager this position has primary responsibility for keeping the warehouse, equipment and trucks clean as well as maintaining and organizing shelves in the warehouse. This position supports all aspects of the Warehousing/Distribution Center.  

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse aisle organization and maintain cleanliness by removing and breaking down empty boxes, plastic wrapping, strapping and empty pallets.
  • Restack merchandise that has shifted or fallen on its shelf. Remove any damaged products.
  • General dusting of surfaces so that products leave the building in clean condition.
  • Keep floors and doorways free of debris (picked up and swept). Ensure all trip hazards are eliminated if possible.
  • Clean company vehicles – remove debris and garbage, vacuum floor board and seats, clean interior, etc.
  • Assist in keeping rental equipment clean.
  • Empty trash containers into proper dumpsters.
  • Involvement in checking on safety equipment such as eye wash stations, fire extinguishers and emergency exit lights.
  • May be asked occasionally to move company vehicles and motorized equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of prior warehouse experience.
  • Light carpentry experience (knowledge of hand tools such as hammers, screw drivers, etc.) a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize work and perform multiple tasks.
  • Must have customer service mindset when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading and writing in the English language.

 

Essential functions:

  • Ability to stand on concrete floor for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in various climate conditions such as cold, heat, humidity for long periods of time.
  • Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl and twist for lifting.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents.
  • Analytical ability including basic math skills.
  • Ability to listen to and interpret customers needs.
  • Communication skills including speaking, reading and writing.

  • Bar code scanners
  • Scales (counting and weight)
  • Manual and electric pallet jacks

 

Additional Comments:

 

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed.  Excellent attendance, punctuality, and a customer service mindset are mandatory.
