  • Job Summary

     

    Reporting to the Manager of Operations, this position has primary responsibility for the overall Inventory, Receiving, Production and Stocking Departments.  Must be proficient in Inventory Control functions to act as area management in the absence of management personnel or during peak periods.

     

    Major Responsibilities

    • Provides coverage in all area of the Distribution Center, including Receiving, Stocking and Inventory Control.
    • Works on special projects such as acquisition transition with the Director of Operations, ensuring that all local distribution processes and policies are in place.
    • Performs inventory review at acquisition locations.
    • Works with the Facilities Director to ensure that OSHA compliance is met at all locations. Directly involved in safety compliance, making sure that all safety personal protective equipment is available and is being used properly.
    • Trains branch or distribution center associates on FACTS system.
    • Travels to branches to train branch associates on protocols annually.
    • Participates in the training of new employees in various functions in the distribution center.
    • Performs stock counts daily to make sure that stock levels are accurate and makes adjustments as needed.
    • May be asked to assist with the loading or unloading of trucks in the absence of personnel or during peak periods.
    • Interacts with Purchasing to resolve receiving issues or to research inventory count issues.
    • Must work closely with branch Managers to maintain inventory accuracy in all locations serviced out of Orange, CT.
    • Builds new locations in distribution center, working with vendors to procure proper labeling and makes sure that labels are attached to shelves properly. Keys work and purchasing order for vendor.
    • Manage daily production as required.
    • Manage and maintain daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements

     

    • High school degree or equivalent.
    • Must have valid drivers license to attend off site visits.
    • Minimum 5 years inventory management experience in a fast-paced distribution environment
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and perform multiple tasks
    • Must have excellent time management skills
    • Must be proficient on the FACTS or similar software as well as Outlook, Word and Excel.
    • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading and writing in the English language.
    • Must have excellent customer service skills and demonstrate a customer service mindset when dealing with internal and external customers

     

    Essential functions:

    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
    • Must be able to climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel and work in small spaces and work in various climates
    • Must be able to enter and exit vehicles at all entrances
    • Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents
    • Analytical ability including basic math skills
    • Ability to listen to and interpret customers needs
    • Communication skills including speaking, reading and writing

    Additional Comments:

     

    Must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel to branch locations.  Excellent attendance, punctuality and customer service mindset are mandatory.
