  • Job Summary

    Reporting to the Director of IT, the Network Analyst is responsible for the installation, layout and maintenance of all network components within Colony.  Will be required to plan, design, analyze and provide technical support for data communications network or group of networks within the company.  Will be responsible for maintaining our current systems and keeping our IT support staff updated on the latest tools and processes.  Will be actively involved in planning for the future growth and expansion of our computer network. 


    Major Responsibilities

    • Monitors and manages all network infrastructure to ensure availability and performance metrics are met
    • Develop methods and tools to be used to test and implement new equipment
    • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users. Analyze workflow, access, information and security requirements
    • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning. Troubleshoot network problems; escalate problems to vendor
    • Create projects that are designed to either add functionality or to address ongoing network failure issues
    • Engage in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolve network connectivity issues
    • Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from any network service interruption, and to prevent recurring problems.
    • Analyze the current network structure and submit comprehensive reports to executive team on how to make the network more efficient
    • Working within a team environment, perform daily management of firewall and other network changes
    • Provide daily management, troubleshooting, and support of networking related issues, establish and maintain relationships with internal and external users
    • Perform backups, scheduled maintenance, upgrades and troubleshooting of Networks
    • Work in a team environment, both corporate departments and branches, to manage the installation of products and resources to meet the needs and requirements of our network based services
    • Work on multiple projects with multiple fast changing requirements
    • Protects organization’s value by keeping Colony information confidential
    • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing , such as routers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related degree
    • Minimum 3 years as a Network Analyst or Network Administrator, preferably in a distribution environment
    • Disaster recovery planning, testing and implementation
    • IT security, including authentication and encryption
    • Data center operations, including backup and restore activities
    • Firewall configuration and management
    • Server administration for Windows Server 2012
    • Secure VPN and Gateway configuration experience
    • Knowledge of Cloud computing technology
    • Demonstrate passion for learning new tools and technology
    • Strong analytical skills to support effective business decisions for continued growth and prosperity
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and work with multiple priorities, sometimes under limited time constraints
    • Demonstrate the ability to stay current on IT threats and vulnerabilities
    • Must be able to communicate effectively; must be able to read, speak and write clearly in the English language
    • Must be available for overnight travel
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship

    Technical Skills:

    • Windows Server 2012
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Red Hat Linux
    • Microsoft Exchange Server


    Essential functions:

    • Physical dexterity for use of computer and demo equipment
    • Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents
    • Analytical ability including basic math skills
    • Ability to listen to and interpret customer’s needs, both internal and external
    • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
    • Communication skills including speaking, reading and writing

    Additional Comments:


    Must be able to travel long distances to meetings, seminars, training sessions and customer calls.  May also require occasional overnight trips.  Excellent attendance, punctuality and a customer service mindset are mandatory.
