  • Job Summary

    Reporting to the Manager of Inventory Control, this position has primary responsibility for ensuring building maintenance and safety regulations are kept up to standards.  Also works with Inventory team to evaluate and rectify any difference in stock. This position is part time

    Major Responsibilities

    • Follows weekly outlined maintenance schedule
    • Clean and replenish bathrooms
    • Clean and clear all carts on mezzanine
    • Clean and clear all aisles on mezzanine
    • Empty all trash on mezzanine
    • Check safety chain for securing ladders daily
    • Empty trash in receiving and shipping
    • Wipe down computer areas in receiving and shipping
    • Clean chain cutting area
    • Inspect pallet area by walking through and performing cleaning as needed
    • Keep outside walkways debris free and clean. May be asked to do light snow removal
    • Wipe down and clean all stairwells and railings
    • Wipe down all chargers for equipment and clean area
    • Assemble equipment such as wheelbarrows, pallet jacks, gang box installs, etc.
    • Performs production functions such as stenciling, hot press applications, rod cutting and caster installs
    • May be asked to do special projects such as light carpentry, electrical, plumbing
    • May have to work off site at remote distribution facility or branches as needed
    • May be asked to stock, pick or cycle count
    • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Requirements

    • High school degree or equivalent.
    • Must have valid drivers license to attend off site inventories or other functions
    • Minimum one year’s maintenance experience, preferably in a distribution environment
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and perform multiple tasks
    • Must have excellent time management skills
    • Must be proficient on the FACTS or similar software
    • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints
    • Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading and writing in the English language.
    • Must have excellent customer service skills and demonstrate a customer service mindset when dealing with internal and external customers.


    Essential functions:

    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
    • Must be able to climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel and work in small spaces and work in various climates
    • Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents
    • Analytical ability including basic math skills
    • Ability to listen to and interpret customers needs
    • Communication skills including speaking, reading and writing


    Equipment Used:

    • Various cleaning tools such as mops, brooms, etc.
    • Various hand tools and cordless power tools, including band saw
    • Computer, keyboard and mouse
    • Telephone, fax machine, scanner and label printer, copier, scales
    • Calculator
    • Forklift, manual and electric pallet jack


    Additional Comments:


    Must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel to branch locations.  Excellent attendance, punctuality and customer service mindset are mandatory.
