Colony Hardware is currently seeking  Accounts Payable Administrative Supporty Clerk to join our team! 


Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Assistant  is mainly responsible for ensuring that vendor invoices are recorded properly and vendors are paid in a timely manner.


Major Responsibilities

  • Communicates with vendors by phone calls or e-mails to resolve issues.
  • Provides support to customers regarding account information.
  • Works with other departments in the company/branch to make sure all accounts are accurate and maintained.
  • Answers all incoming calls in a pleasant and prompt manner. Forwards calls to appropriate employee and takes detailed messages
  • Opens and distributes mail to the appropriate department
  • Responsible for mailing invoices and checks
  • Prepares bank deposits.
  • Maintains all Account Payable and Receivable files
  • Process credit card and check payments (cash application)
  • Orders office supplies, materials, or equipment for the department
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist in all areas of accounting

Minimum Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • College degree in related discipline or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in an office environment or related job role/function.



  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and perform multiple tasks.
  • Analytical ability including basic math skills.
  • Must have excellent time management, negotiation, critical thinking, decision making, and organizational skills as well as attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading, and writing in the English language with the ability to converse verbally with others on the phone and/or in person.
  • Must have outstanding customer service skills with the ability to interpret customer needs as well as demonstrate a customer service mindset when dealing with internal and external customers.


Working Conditions


This position is a full-time, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM position*. Excellent attendance, punctuality, and working a flexible schedule, including weekends, is required.

*Hours may vary.


Equipment Used


Computer, telephone, fax machine, check scanner, mail machine, copier, and calculator.
